Things you might find interesting:

• Spaniards are great cooks, with quality local ingredients and plenty of culinary know-how
  
  

• You’ll find tasty food in restaurants with generous lunch menus for 13–15 euros – I recommend our local British spot “At Home” (see the stamp card for lunch menus). It’s about a 7-minute walk from the house. Note that most restaurants outside the centre stop serving after lunch and reopen their kitchens only in the evening. Tables fill up in the evening, so it’s a good idea to book during the day.
  
  

• If you love food shopping, be sure to visit Mercadona (hams, cheeses, fresh fish and even “hot ready meals” for a few euros)
  
  

• For casual shoppers: Habaneras Shopping Centre in Torrevieja. Bus line B runs there from us (the stop is just around the corner, towards the At Home restaurant). By car: 7 minutes.
  
  

• For serious shoppers: the MEGA outdoor shopping centre in neighbouring La Zenia (be warned, it’s an “all-day” shopping trip)
  
  

• Credit cards are accepted everywhere, but cash comes in handy at beach kiosks 😊
  
  

• Withdrawing from ATMs is no problem; fees for withdrawing from a Czech bank are usually just a few euros.
